And here we are in February -- the month of Valentine's.
You can't help be reminded to get your Valentine something special by just walking into a store. The reminders are everywhere!
The Way You Look Tonight was written in 1936 by Jerome Kern for "Swing Time" starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. (Sung by Betsy Lee Bailey)

Back in college, I sang with my older brother's dance band. It was fun singing love songs and watching the couples out there on the dance floor (even though I wished I was out on the dance floor as well).
Back then, singing with the dance band was the way I earned money to afford studying music in school. My vocal lessons focused on art songs and arias from opera and oratorio. But, I had this other life. I really loved singing smooth jazz and musical theater songs. By senior year, my voice teacher basically forced me to choose one or the other. He told me I couldn't sing both. So I sang his choices.
But I'm not in school any more. Why should I worry about all of that now? I suppose now I can sing pretty much what I'm in the mood for. So, in honor of Valentine's Day, here are some Jazz Standards Love songs playlist. Just for fun!
