Christmas Nativity Pageant Script (Short)
This Christmas Nativity Pageant Script was written for families with a cast of young children to use. None of the main actors need to say lines, just pantomime and look engaged. There are vignette parts for Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the Donkey, any number of Sheep (ours usually like to dance), the Annunciation Angel who could also hold the Star, and the Wise Men (better if played by adults who can sing). The Narrations are for the people old enough to read and are pulled from the chorus of Shepherds and Angels. Someone could read the part of the Roman Prefect who makes the announcement that "all the world should be taxed." Everyone should wear some sort of a costume to get into the spirit. A baby doll may be cast as the Baby Jesus, but it is so much better if a real baby gets the part! (Costumes need not be complete or even fit well as you can see from the pictures below. Actors and audience members will need to suspend their disbelief!)
