Yesterday, we finally got to sing the hymns during Church! Yay!
Our building has one of the finest organs and organists in Utah Valley. Please don't get me wrong. We have enjoyed hearing Walter Whipple play every week. But, it just hasn't been the same level of worship without being able to sing the hymns. We still have to wear masks. And we must rely on using our smartphones for the words because we are not allowed to distribute hymnals. Even so, I actually heard the members of our congregation singing! (Not just me singing solo.)
We have a lot of senior citizens in our congregation. Some we had not seen in more than a year. Suddenly more seniors have had vaccinations and feel confident that they can come to Church in relative safety. Curiously, we hardly see any families with children coming out to Church with any regularity. Still, our congregation that for a year was less than 40 regulars, now had more than 100 yesterday. It felt so good to have our immense Stake Center chapel and gym overflow be populated again!
