"The Family" - Words by Mabel Jones Gabbott, Music by Richard Clinger p. 194 of the Children's Songbook)
These drawings can be printed on card stock, colored, cut out and laminated for use in teaching the song "The Family" found on page 194 of the Children's Songbook or at lds.org/music. Drawings could be mounted on stir sticks or dowels for the children to hold or use magnets or sticky tack to place on chalkboard or whiteboard. (Or, you could amaze the children if you draw similar simple pictures on the white board as you talk.)
Lyrics:
When the family gets together, after evening work is done, (children)
Then we learn to know each other popping corn (popcorn)
and having fun. (games)
Then our father tells a story, (father with book)
Mother leads us in a song, (mother directing music)
And it seems that nothing in this world could possibly go wrong. (improvise actions of wagging finger back and forth, or hugging self and swaying)
