Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - by Ralph Blane and Hugh Martin
Arranged by Betsy Lee Bailey
A perennial favorite at Christmas time, this song was written for the 1944 movie "Meet Me in St. Louis" for
Judy Garland to sing about the sadness of leaving the family's home in St. Louis. In the movie, the song made little Margaret O'Brien cry as well as many in the audience. The song itself is not a tear-jerker and should be a very lovely addition for the holiday season. This may be a piece introducing the use of extended harmonies such as major seventh chords and other "jazz" chords to the beginner piano student. The Primo part is accessible for the Grade 3+ student. The Secondo part is for the Teacher or more advanced student. Available for digital Download at SmpPress.com
