Come Unto Him - Woodwind Quintet with Harp
The text for the original choral is taken from Matthew 11: 28-30. This piece beckoning all to come unto Christ is appropriate for worship meetings at any time of the year, but especially at Easter and Christmas. The opening theme is first stated in the Horn and then restated by each instrument in their own registers against the gentle counterpoint in the other instrumental parts. The accompaniment should glide gently and smoothly as on a calm lake rising in intensity only at the climax at measure 73, and then relax into a peaceful soft finish.
