Come and Sit with Us - SSAA

This Relief Society Anthem was inspired by the caption underneath a picture of African Relief Society Sisters who were getting ready for the photo to be taken.  The caption read, "Come and sit with me."  This thought of making room for everyone to have a place is indicative of the world-wide sisterhood of Relief Society.  Also, a friend of mine gave me a framed piece of art that she so beautifully wrote in calligraphy a quote by Lucy Mack Smith.  Sister Smith's thought that we must cherish and serve one another and learn and teach each other so that we can one day sit down together in Heaven perfectly explains the work of the Relief Society.  These two thoughts of come and sit with us and one day being able to sit down in heaven together make up the message of this powerful Relief Society Anthem.

This song was premiered at the Relief Society Music Festival on Temple Square on October 26th, 2012.  The recording is of that performance.  (Women from the Fruit Heights Utah Stake directed by Jane Fjeldsted, accompanied by DeAnne Walker.)
