"As the French Say" is a song from The Tale of the Country Mouse and the City Mouse applauding the French people's way of finding joy in life: "La Joie de Vivre" means the "Art of Living Joyously." It also tells that the way to enjoy going out on the town is to "Eat well!" or "Bien Manger!" In the musical play, the City Mice are explaining how City Living is the only way to Live Joyously and Eat Well. The French Maid begins by explaining that in "France they have a saying..." Well you can imagine the rest.
