Years ago, we put it away in an envelope along with the original drawing, the picture with the reporter awarding it to me, and the newspaper clipping from 1968.
The photo, drawing, and newspaper section have yellowed with age. In fact, they are so delicate they are falling apart. So I digitized them and now have them saved on the computer.
Dad always told us that what he really did at work was think and dream. That's why 12-year-old me imagined him at his desk this way.
Here in July, it's nice to remember and celebrate the anniversary of that wonderful milestone in our history.
