"Jingle Bells" - SATB and Piano - Words and Music by James Pierpont,
Vocals by Janie Thompson, arrangement by Betsy Lee Bailey

Janie learned early in her life that she needed to make any song she performed "her own."  I grew up thinking that many of the popular songs she sang were her original songs, because no one could sing them like she did.  This version of "Jingle Bells" has what I call a "Janie Ending."  She had such a great way of jazzing up the song for an un-forgetable finish.  This is one is a classic.
Janie rarely wrote out any accompaniments.  She could play the piano fancier than most people, and when she performed and played for herself to sing, she usually played standing up.  I created this accompaniment trying to remember how she played this song.  She would, of course, jazz it up in her unique style.
